IS CHRISTIANITY PASSE ?

Written by Claude Reese 18 May 2012 Published in Claude Reese

Polls show about 50% of our citizens believe the marriage of gay people is alright. For this reason our Benevolent Leader has made the decision to approve it. He believes he will get more votes for so doing. He has done this even though it has always been God's plan for it to be one man and one woman. He has done this even though our government holds it should be one man and one woman, as do 38 of our states. North Carolina has just passed a constitutional amendment making this the law.

NOW You've Done It, Sid Riley!

As we say down here in Unoccupied Florida, he's gone and done it.

Since I began writing for The Jackson County Times, there has been something of a tacit understanding amongst us men folk here.

Bo McMullian will fill his pages with the comings and goings of commerce: restaurants that open and close and move across the street or across the time zone; stores that have unique merchandise or even more unique owners; the possibility of a widget manufacturer opening in one of our many boarded up buildings.

GRAHAM AVIATION

The above marker (see picture) gives a good summery of Graham's performance.

I am writing this article because of the recent death of Paul Fuder. He was a flight instructor at Graham. For many years there have been four previous Graham instructors living here. They were Paul, Joe Quick, Jake Huizer and me. Joe died a few months ago, I have moved to Prattville, AL, so, suddenly there is only one left, Jake Huizer. I think he and I are both 89 and I think he is in relatively good health. When Jake leaves, there will be no one left in Jackson County who flew for Graham.

A Love Song to a High School

Written by Homer Hirt 11 May 2012 Published in Homer Hirt

Once again we as schoolmates assemble...

Every other year some older graduates of Chattahoochee High School gather to remember, to renew acquaintances, to go back in the past, a past that for some of us spans seven decades. The one thread that winds through and gives us a commonality is the principal who took a small town school and made it a center of education. His name was J. E. Williams.
