Integras, a popular gym in Marianna located next to the Grocery Outlet at 4230 Lafayette St., is now the Chipola Fitness Center and is in full partnership with publicly-owned Jackson Hospital. The hospital and the privately-owned Integras company have entered into an LLC together.
"We're going to focus on the total patient," hospital CEO Larry Meese said at the ribbon-cutting Monday afternoon. "We'll try to keep them out of the hospital if we can. Also, through this partnership we can build relationships with new people."
Next door to the gym is Jackson Therapy Center, a physical therapy treatment center also affiliated with Integras, according to Chauncey Belser, CEO of Integras. The hospital and Integras also invested in a complete remodeling of the gym, with a lot of new equipment. "We put down new flooring, new paint and new equipment," said Lee Windsor, manager. "This includes a complete cardio line."
The Integras gym opened about 15 years ago. Jackson Hospital has long been affiliated with the therapy center and is now a partner in the gym as well.
