Buss-Bullets_and_Bows

Bullets and Bows, a Marianna hunting goods store at 2924 Jefferson St., closed last week. Owners Angie and Tom Carpenter have reportedly sold the building.

Buss-DogsJudy Williams, owner of the UPS store in Marianna has started an additional business. It is called "Custom Canine Creations" and features "custom, made-to-fit outfits for your pet." She also has pet beds, blankets and bows. Call Judy at 850-693-0605 with your pet measurements (neck to tail and around chest) and she will make the outfit of your choice. Patterns include those of the major college football teams, especially FSU. (See photo)

Bistro-Palms-10-06-2011

Bistro Palms, Marianna's jazziest restaurant, will be celebrating its third anniversary on Feb. 19. The McPherson Street art district location, featuring the spacey outdoor back deck, has become the place to be seen for lunch and on Friday evenings for pizza. Bistro Palms will hold a celebration all day on Friday, Feb. 17. Pizza is served on Fridays from 5 p.m. "until the dough runs out." Business News wishes to give a big Valentine's Day congratulations to owners Mystie and Mark Richards for their major contribution to the city. For more information, call Mystie at 526-2226.

Bo McMullian has more than 30 years of experience in the newspaper business. He received a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Florida in 1979. He went to work for local papers immediately and published The Monitor newspaper in Marianna from 1984-1989. He has written for the Tallahassee Democrat and the Jackson County Floridan. He writes and sells ads for Times. The 1971 Marianna High School grad joined the staff at the Jackson County Times in 2009. He lives in Grand Ridge.
