Lady Pirates split games in Tri-Match Saturday

The Lady Pirates hosted a Tri-Match Saturday and took on some tough teams in their quest for a fifth straight state championship.  In their match against the Lincoln High Lady Trojans, the two teams took it to five sets but in the end, it was the Lady Pirates prevailing.  Sneads found themselves in a battle of a lifetime when they went head to head with Choctawhatchee and despite hanging tough in every set, fell in three.  

In the Lincoln High game, the Lady Pirates had their plate full, taking it to five sets.  Set one went Lincoln’s way 23-25 before Sneads battled to win set two 25-22.  Set three was a challenge, going to overtime with Lincoln taking the victory 27-25.  The Lady Pirates turned it up a notch to take the next two sets 25-20 and 15-13 to pick up the win.

Allie Ann McCord and Ariana Lee were on fire with McCord picking up 15 kills while Lee recorded 13.  On board with seven kills was Michaela Edenfield, followed by Kiara Garrett with six, and Alyssa Stagner with two.

Taylor Roberts and Ariana Lee both had five ace serves, followed by Kayla Edwards on their heels with four.  Allie Ann McCord and Alyssa Stagner added one ace serve each.  Michaela Edenfield had three blocks, while Lacee Glover recorded one block.  

Taylor Roberts went to the next level in digs, recording 40 digs on the night.  Lacee Glover had 17 and Kayla Edwards 13 in a banner day in the dig department for the Lady Pirates.  Adding six digs was Kiara Garrett, Alyssa Stagner with five, and Allie Ann McCord with four.  Michaela Edenfield added two digs, while Sierra McNeil had one going in her stats.  

Alyssa Stagner turned it up with 57 assists in the game in route to the Lady Pirates win.  

The Lady Pirates fell in three hard-fought and close sets against Choctawhatchee.  Set one was close at 25-21 before the two teams took it to overtime in set two 28-26 and the final set 25-22.  

Lacee Glover led the Lady Pirates with 13 kills, followed by Allie Ann McCord with nine.  Ariana Lee and Michaela Edenfield both recorded five kills, with Kiara Garrett and Alyssa Stagner picking up two kills each, while Kazia Gainer had one kill in the game.

Ace serves were at a premium with Alyssa Stagner recording the only three for the Pirates against Choctawhatchee. Michaela Edenfield and Allie Ann McCord recorded two blocks each.  Taylor Roberts recorded 22 digs in the game, with Allie Ann McCord and Alyssa Stagner adding seven digs each.  Kayla Edwards and Lacee Glover were on board with four digs each, while Kiara Garrett had three digs and Abby Perkins with two in the game.  

Alyssa Stagner had 27 assists against Choctawhatchee.
