Sneads Volleyball - the dynasty continues

Coach Sheila Roberts is no stranger to winning – four straight state championships under her leadership at Sneads High School, something very few schools ever accomplish.  Roberts holds all of her players to the highest accountability, including her own two girls she coached throughout their high school career.  Her players as well as the entire student body respect her and work extra hard to please her.  That says a lot about a coach.

The Sneads volleyball team participated in a pre-season tournament this past weekend in Tallahassee at Leon High School.  In the words of every coach on planet earth, it’s not where you start but where you end and if you don’t play above your level, you won’t get better.

In action this weekend, Sneads lost to Leon winning one set, while falling in three sets Friday night.  Saturday, they bounced back with three straight sets against Wakulla.

Following the match, Roberts said, “We have worked hard in preseason and are ready to make a run.”

The Lady Pirates opened at home Tuesday night against Graceville and are scheduled to travel to Cottondale Thursday (tonight) with games at 5 and 6:00 p.m.

This year’s team is made up of seniors Taylor Roberts, Allie Ann McCord, Kayla Edwards, Alyssa Stagner, Sierra McNeil, Brianna Davis, Brianna Stagner, and Loren Williams.  They will be joined by juniors Lacee Glover, Madelyn Goodson, Abby Perkins, and Ariana Lee.  Sophomores putting in work on the team include Kazia Gainer and Michaela Edenfield.
