Marianna Swim Team concludes its season

The Marianna Swim Team has continued to grow in numbers year after year and this year was no exception.  Completing the 2017 season this year were 40 swimmers from ages three to 18.   Although the Bainbridge Swim Team had to pull out at the last minute, the MST had a great time with inner squad competition.

The teams saw brothers and sisters competing and all congratulating each other on their performances.  Kinsey Smith found herself a photo-finish ahead of brother Hunter Smith, pulling away in the last quarter of the pool.  Hunter was a true sport – after all, Kinsey is older!

Beau and Taylor Swearingen didn’t find themselves head for head in competition but gave it their all in every event.

Team members competing throughout the summer were three-year-old Macie Andreu and Hunter Bedini with Colton Hinson, Jacob Stafford, and Will Dickson representing the four-year old group.  Checking into the five-year old group were Charlie Dickson, Will Andreu, Brett Johnson, and Jalani Johnson with Natalie Bedini, Ryder Hinson, and Beau Swearingen making their mark in the six-year-old division.  Representing the Marianna Swim Team as seven-year olds were Nadia Mobley, Reginal Bowles, Andreu Law, Nicole Vetrano, Christian Hancock, and Riley Adkison. Jaedon Nichols was the only eight-year old competing this year but Sam Griffin, Sarah Bedini, and Stephen Stafford all swam well in the nine-year old league.  Making their mark in the ten-year old group was Addie Hussey, Elizabeth Vetrano, Will Anderson, Mason Mobley, and Elijah Etheridge.  Andrew Neamtu, David Griffin, Eva Marie Stafford, Ryan Law, Hunter Smith, and Taylor Swearingen represented the Marianna team well in the 11-year old division.  Hunter Shuler, Jackson Shuler, and Jimmy Shuler swam in the 12-year old league, with Kinsey Smith and Nicholas Halling representing the 14-year olds.  Elizabeth Halling swam in the 16-year old group, with Adelaide Johnson taking part in the 18-year old races.

The Marianna Swim Team is led by head coach Jennifer Stafford with assistance from Sam Andreu, Mary Lu Andreu, Lu Ann Law, and Barry Stafford.

The Marianna Swim Team appreciates all the support they received from their sponsors, J. Philip Tyler, CPA, Linda Pforte State Farm Insurance, Glover’s Automotive Services, Jim and Angie Tyler, Sam Andreu with North Florida Hardware, Jennifer and Barry Stafford, Mary Lu Andreu, Milton Insurance, Albert Milton, Hinson Triple H Farms, Miller-Miller Chevrolet-Buick-Cadillac-Nissan-GMC, Robert and Beverly Hinson, and Cobb Front End and Tire Services.

Congratulations to the Marianna Swim Team swimmers, coaches, parents, and supporters on another great season.
