Marianna volleyball takes two from Rutherford

Marianna volleyball takes two from Rutherford

The Marianna Lady Bulldogs volleyball team traveled to Rutherford last Thursday. Junior varsity and varsity were both able to bring home a win. Junior varsity defeated the Lady Rams in two sets and varsity won in three sets. 

Mia Merrifield and Kate Myhill led the JV team with five aces each with Myhill also making three kills. Cyann Clark-Hussey was close behind them with three aces and two kills. Sydney Powell and Lexi Spooner both made two aces. Jade Hendrix, Angel Curry and Abby Cozart were also on the board each with one ace. Cozart also made one kill and five assists. Amari Brown made one kill.

Majic McNealy led the varsity team with nine kills, one ace, and two blocks. Ashtyn Jeter was right behind her with seven kills. Graci Jerkins made five kills and one ace. Kinsey Smith was also on the board with three kills and three aces. Becca Mercer, Kaley Dunn, and Gabby Bess each had one kill, with Mercer also adding one ace. Bess made two aces, one dig, and 17 assists. Lauren Brock made two aces.

Monday August 27th, the Lady ‘Dawgs were scheduled to travel to North Bay Haven. Tuesday August 28th, the team was scheduled to play at home against South Walton. Finally, this week, the girls will travel to Bay on August 30th. All game times are set for 5pm and 6pm.
