The Panhandle Seminole Club will hold its Annual Kickoff Scholarship Awards Dinner at Rivertown Community Church at 4534 Lafayette Street in Marianna on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at 6:30 PM CDT.

The Club will introduce and present scholarships to four local students who will be attending FSU this fall. Each student will be awarded a $1000 scholarship coming from monies that were raised through several fund-raisers supported by our local community. These scholarships bring the Club’s most recent total to over $66,000 in support of FSU students.

The guest speaker will be FSU Associate Athletic Director Vanessa Fuchs. Ms. Fuchs is a former Noles basketball player who has climbed the ranks to become the highest ranking female sport administrator at the school. She served as interim AD just prior to the school hiring Stan Wilcox and oversees our successful women’s programs.

Along with Ms. Fuchs, Jim Curry, Governance and Compliance Officer, will update the Club on football happenings and the new coaching staff.

Additionally, our local Club will auction off softballs autographed by the 2018 National Championship FSU softball team to raise scholarship funds for next year.

Friends of FSU and local boosters will be treated to this program and a great meal. The Awards Dinner is free to Alumni Association members and $5 to all non-members. For reservation information, please call George Sweeney at (850) 482-5526 by August 14.

Information about the Club’s activities may be found on their website at www.panhandleseminoles.com and Facebook (www.facebook.com/panhandleseminoles).
