Marianna man arrested on drug chargesWritten by Staff

On January 7th, 2017 at approximately 3:04pm, officers with the Marianna Police Department responded to 2929A Wynn Street in reference to a possible burglary in progress. Upon arrival officers began investigating the burglary. Officers obtained a physical description consisting of a short, black male. Officers canvassed the area and came in contact with Ta’Vain Harris walking on Syliva Dr. Harris was found to have two active warrants out of Jackson County. Harris was arrested for the warrants and a search of Harris was conducted.
During the search officers located a small amount of methamphetamine and marijuana. Officers also located a glass, smoking pipe concealed on him. Harris was read his Miranda rights and admitted to police that the methamphetamine was for sell, not use.
Along with the warrants, Harris is being charged with the above mentioned charges. Harris was transported to the Jackson County Correctional Facility to await first appearance.
Arrestee: Ta’Vain Harris, black male, 18 years of age, Marianna, FL
Charges: Possession of methamphetamine with the intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana less than 20 grams.
