Jackson County School bus accident

On 11/3/2016 at approximately 3:00pm a Jackson County School Bus driven by Kevin Wilson Potts of Marianna and a Jackson County Road Grader driven by John Duane Edwards of Cottondale were traveling north of Phillips Road approaching the intersection with Dilmore Road. The Road Grader traveled east on to Dilmore Road and stopped within the intersection facing east. The School Bus approached and stopped at the intersection of Dilmore Road. The School Bus then entered the intersection in an attempt to travel into the west travel lanes and pass Road Grader. The Road Grader attempting to remove the pushed dirt from the roadway began to reverse. The School Bus failed to yield right of way for The Road Grader and traveled into the path of The Road Grader. Here The Road Graders rear Road Rake pierced the right side of the School Bus. Upon Impact Both vehicles stopped. The Road Grader came to final rest within the roadway facing east. The School Bus Came to Final Rest within the intersection facing in a north easterly direction. As a result of the incident (4) Juveniles were transported to Jackson Hospital with Minor injuries. The other (27) Juveniles checked on scene by Jackson County EMS. Upon being cleared by EMS they were transported from the scene to their designated drop offs.

Charges: failed to use due care
