Nancy Elizabeth Melvin

Nancy Elizabeth Melvin age 76 of Alford passed away on Monday, August 20, 2018. She was born on October 2, 1941 in Miami, Florida. Nancy moved from Hollywood, Florida to Alford, Florida in 1973. She was a loving mother and wonderful homemaker that enjoyed  cooking for her family.  Nancy enjoyed being outside gardening, and was an avid reader. She was of the Protestant faith and attended Rivertown Community Church.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Wilson and Ella Weeks and one sister, Thelma Scott. She is survived by her loving husband of fifty-seven years, James Edward Melvin of Alford, Florida; children, James Edward Melvin (II) of Tallahassee, Florida, Roxy Melvin of Alford, Florida, and Robin Whitfield (Will) of Bonifay, Florida; grandchildren, Brittany Ballard Rex (Darin), Breanna Ballard Johns (Adam), Ben Whitfield (Rebecca), Nicholas Melvin, and Noah Melvin; great grandchildren, Jonah Rex, Josiah Rex, Charlize Whitfield, and Jameson Beau Whitfield.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

Donald Edward Evans

Donald Edward Evans age 95 of Marianna passed away Wednesday August 15, 2018 in Marianna, Florida. He was born on July 8, 1923 in North Hampton, Massachusetts to the late Robert John Evans and Gertrude Oefinger Evans. Donald was a combat documentary photographer for the United States Navy and the United States Airforce. After serving his country in WWII, Korean War, and Vietnam War, Donald retired with twenty-five years of service as a Staff Sergeant. He was a member of Eastside Assembly of God in Marianna, FL. 

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and one sister. He is survived by his wife Ouida Evans; children, Deborah Evans, Linda Corrigan, Karen (James) Watkins, Bobby (Lisa) Drummond, Rhonda (Craig) Scalf, DeeDee Lipford, and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

Funeral Services will be held at Eastside Assembly of God in Marianna, FL on Monday, August 20, 2018 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Terry Broome officiating. The family will receive friend one hour prior to the service. Interment to follow at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens in Marianna, FL

John Degemis, 63, passed away Sunday, August 12, 2018 in Cottondale, Florida.

Rebecca M. Carlberg

Rebecca M. Carlberg age 74 formerly of Keithsburg, Illinois passed away in Marianna, Florida on Sunday, August 12, 2018. She was born in Illinois on September 21, 1943 and was of the Presbyterian faith. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and being a homemaker.

Rebecca was preceded in death by her mother. She is survived by her husband, Robert W. Carlberg of Marianna, Florida formerly of Keithsburg, Illinois; three sons, Robert G. Carlburg of Riverview, Florida, James Carlberg (Tana) of Fort Worth, Texas, and David Carlberg (Shawna) of Marianna, Florida; two grandchildren, David Carlberg and Heather Carlberg and one grandson, Kolten Carlberg.

Memorialization will be by cremation.
