Jeanette Johnson Yon

Jeanette Johnson Yon, age 81, beloved wife, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great Grandmother and friend, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, October 31, 2018. By her bedside we’re her 3 girls, grandchildren & her sister Linda Johnson Campbell.

She leaves behind her loving and devoted family, daughters Diane Yon Sprayberry (Richard) Childersburg, Al, Denise Yon Congleton (Bruce), Havana, Fl, Jan Yon Martinez (Adalberto), Quincy, Fl, 8 grandchild, Sunshine Sprayberry, Quincy, Fl, Ashlynn Adank(Jason), Tallahassee, Fl, Jana Barnes (Lee), Quincy, Fl, Brittany Neel (Melissa), Havana, Fl, Richard Sprayberry (Jamie), Madison, Al, Heather Shields, (Ray), Tallahassee, Paige Huffman (Rick), Tallahassee, Fl, Christy West (David), Tallahassee. 15 great grandchildren, 2 great-great children. Sisters, Imogene Moody (Carl), Panama City, Agnes Sawyer (Bennett), Panama City, Linda Campbell (Jim), Tallahassee, one brother, Jackie Johnson (Bonnie), Cottondale. 

Going before her was her loving husband Hilton Yon, her father, Theo Johnson and mother Alma Johnson.

Jeanette was employed with the Jackson County School board.  She was an aide for 9 years and a teacher for 21 years. She graduated from Cottondale High School and received her BA degree from University of West Florida. She was a member of North Florida Baptist Church, Tallahassee, Fl. And was active in her Sunday school class, One Accord. Jeanette enjoyed baking cakes, and taking food to the sick, bereaved and elders of the church. She also enjoyed making hats for cancer patients.

A time of visitation will be held from 1:00p.m. CST until 2:00 p.m. CST on Sunday, November 4, 2018 at the North Florida Baptist Church (3000 N Meridian Road,Tallahassee, Fl 32312). Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. CST with Rev. Tommy Stone officiating. 

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am CST, 12:00 pm EST on Monday, November 5, 2018 at the Cottondale First Baptist Church Cemetery in Cottondale, Florida.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Courage Through Cancer Ministry, P.O. Box 4067, Tallahassee 32315-4067.

Ray Heimbach

Ray Heimbach age 80 of Marianna passed away on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at Jackson Hospital. He was born on May 7, 1938 in California to the late Raymond and Priscilla Heimbach. Ray served twenty-one years in the United States Navy and retired as a Chief Petty Officer. He then worked and retired from Lanier Technical School in Oakwood, Georgia as a Physical Plant Manager.  Ray moved to Marianna in 2001 where he enjoyed raising Angus cattle, growing hay, camping, and fishing. 

Ray is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Lowell Heimbach and one sister, Patti Acunna. He is survived by his loving wife of thirty-nine years, Hazel Heimbach; children, Raymond Darryll Heimbach (Angie) of Alabaster, Alabama, Donna Dutton of Grayson, Georgia, Gayle Bradshaw of Grayson, Georgia, Leslie Martin (Troy) of Johns Creek, Georgia, Glenn Moore (Brenda) of Dunnellon, Florida, and Karen Glidewell (Bill) of Alabaster, Alabama. Ray is also survived by fifteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. 

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 21, 2018 in the Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with Pastor Terry Broome officiating and full military honors.

John Henry Jarmon

John Henry Jarmon age 91 of Marianna passed away on Thursday, October 18, 2018. He was born in Cottondale on April 15, 1927 to the late L.J. and Annie Baker Jarmon. John spent most of his life in Jackson County and was of the Protestant faith. He enjoyed hunting, roping, and riding horses.

John was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mryle Jarmon; son, John Jarmon; 3 brothers, Buford “Butch” Jarmon, Rudolph Jarmon, and James L. Jarmon; 3 sister, Ethel Smith, Ann Lois Richards, and Estelle Godfrey. He is survived by his grandson, Brandon Lee Jarmon, 2 great-grandchildren, and a numerous nieces and nephews. 

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, October 22, 2018 in the Riverside Cemetery with Blair Myers officiating.

Gwendolyn N. Hobgood Lipford

Gwendolyn N. Hobgood Lipford age 75 o Marianna, passed away on Wednesday, October 10, 2018. 

She was born on June 17, 1943 in Jacksonville, Florida to the late Harold Hobgood and Ethel Neal. She spent most of her life in Jackson County and was of the Baptist faith. Gwendolyn loved playing BINGO, was a wonderful cook and loved playing with her grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Franklin D. Lipford, 3 brothers, and 5 sisters.

Gwendolyn is survived by two sons Danny Frank Lipford and wife Jennifer of Marianna, and Terry Riley Lipford and wife Georgia of Marianna, one daughter Sheila Ann Lundgren and husband Terry of Altha; grandchildren, Danny Frank Lipford, Jr., Tracy Rena Lipford, Travis Spurlock, George Lipford, Savannah Lipford, Thomas Lipford, Justin Lipford, Devin Knight, Parker Barnes, Isabell Barnes, and 10 great grandchildren.

Services for Gwendolyn will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at New Salem Baptist Church with Pastor Joey Woodruff officiating. Interment will follow the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service.
