Eloise Baker

Mrs. Eloise Baker of Marianna, Florida transitioned from life temporal to life eternal on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 in Jackson Hospital in Marianna, Florida.  She was a member of Greater Buckhorn Missionary Baptist Church.  

Homegoing Celebration of Life services will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at  3:00 P.M. at Greater Buckhorn Missionary Baptist Church located at 4691 Hwy 162, Marianna, FL 32446 with Reverend William Harvey (Pastor) officiating. Interment in Buckhorn Cemetery. 

Vann Funeral Home in charge of service.

Mrs. Baker will lie in repose at the church from 2:00 P.M. until time for the service.

A viewing will be held on Friday, May 10, 2019 2:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at Vann Funeral Home.

She leaves to cherish a lifetime of fond memories, a loving family:

One Sister: Vera Golden (Nathaniel) of Clearwater, Florida

One Brother: Albert Myrick of Clearwater, Florida

A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many dear friends. 

Josephine W. Bowles

Mrs. Josephine W. Bowles of Marianna, Florida transitioned from life temporal to life eternal on Thursday, May 2, 2019 in North Florida Regional Medical Center in  Gainesville, Florida.  She was a member of Saint James African Methodist Episcopal Church.  She was a retired educator from Jackson County School Board. To know her was to love her. 

Homegoing Celebration of Life services will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at Pope Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church located at 4898 Poe Chapel Road Marianna, FL 32446 with Reverend Larry Brown, Pastor and Reverend Ronald D. Mizer officiating. Interment in Orange Hill Cemetery. 

Vann Funeral Home in charge of service.

Mrs. Bowles will lie in repose at the church from 10:00 A.M. until time for the service.

A viewing will be held on Friday, May 10, 2019 3:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at Vann Funeral Home.

Betty Ann Lewis Daniels

Mrs. Betty Ann Lewis Daniels, 74, of Marianna, Florida transitioned from life temporal to life eternal on Sunday, April 14, 2019 in Marianna Health and Rehabilitation Center surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Flavius Lewis and Bertha Mae Russ Lewis. 

Homegoing Celebration of Life services will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at 11:00 AM CST from the sanctuary of the Holy Neck Missionary Baptist Church in Campbellton, Florida with Reverend Richard Peterson, Sr. pastor officiating. Interment in the Holy Neck Cemetery. Vann Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. 

Mrs. Daniels will lie in state at the church from 10:00 AM until time for the service.

A viewing will be held on Friday, April 26, 2019 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Vann Funeral Home. 

Precious memories will forever remain with her sisters: Beatrice Thomas and Alice Lewis-Barnes (Tommy) of Nashville, TN; Lola McKinnon of Bradenton, FL; brother-in-law: Allen Thinn, Jr. of Dade City, FL; nieces: Ida Veronica and Bertha Mae Thomas of Nashville, TN; nephews: Alex Courtney Johnson of Leesburg, VA, and Roy Thomas, Jr. (Tamika) of Navarre, FL; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

John Allen “Joe” Hearns

Mr. John Allen “Joe” Hearns transitioned from life temporal to life eternal in Advent Health Hospital on April 14, 2019 in Tampa, Florida. He is preceded in death by his sisters: Ruth Brown, Catherine Laster, and Bernice Middliton; and brothers: Ulysse Hearns, Elry Hearns, Jr., and Robert Hearns.

Mr. Hearns was born on May 14, 1952 in Chattahoochee, Florida to Elry and Ruby Hearns. He moved to Malone, Florida and married Vickie Brelove on July 11, 1997. To this union two daughters:  Venisha and Jakivia Hearns were born. 

Joe worked for Oakley Trucking Company, Lily Industries, and Farley Nuclear Plant. After retiring from Farley Nuclear Plant he created his own business, Hearns Trucking Company and continued to work until his passing. Joe was very active in the community. He mentored several children and coached softball for many years. Some of those teams included the Blazin’ Heat, Snow Hill Sluggers, and Malone High School.   

Homegoing Celebration of Life services will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at 11:00 AM CST from the sanctuary of the Snow Hill African Methodist Episcopal Church in Malone, Florida where the Reverend Adrienne McClendon is pastor. Interment in the Snow Hill Cemetery. Vann Funeral Home in charge. 

Mr. Hearns will lie in state at the church from 10:00 AM until time for the service.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Vann Funeral Home. 

Mr. Hearns is survived by his wife, Vickie Hearns; his daughters, Jacqueline Small; Sonya Hearns; Nicky Sheppard; Venisha Hearns (Chad); and Jakivia Hearns; his sons, Joe Hearns and Jarvis Baker; his sisters: Emma McKnight, Jessie Mae Hatchet, Louise (Mack) Taplin, and Rose (Paul) Simon; his brothers: Earnest Lee Hearns, William “Billy” (Cheryl) Hearns, and James Edward Hearns; special friend, Victoria King; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
