Arlene M. Smith

Mrs. Arlene M. Smith, of Marianna, FL, transitioned from life temporal to life eternal on Friday, December 8, 2017 in Jackson Hospital.

She was a member of the St. James African Methodist Episcopal Church of Marianna, FL. She received her early education in the Duval County School System; secondary education from Florida Memorial College of St. Augustine, FL, receiving her B.S. Degree; and received her Master’s Degree from Troy University.  She began her true passion in life, becoming an educator, first in Nashville, GA and later transferring to Jackson County School where she retired after 30 years. 

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at St. James African Methodist Episcopal Church with Rev. Jason Clayton, Rev. Joe Tripp, Rev. Dovie Lewis, Rev. Francis Menchion and Rev. Ronald Mizer, Pastor Officiating.

Interment will be in the Orange Hill Cemetery, Marianna, FL

Vann Funeral Home will be in charge of the service.

The viewing will be held Friday, December 15, 2017 from 2:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at Vann Funeral Home.

Mrs. Smith will lie in repose at the church from 10:00 A.M. until time for the service.

She leaves to cherish a lifetime of fond and precious memories, a loving family:

Three Daughters: Gail Watkins of Jacksonville, FL; Corliss Coverdell of Marianna, FL and Corliss Smith of Greenville, SC

Two Sons:  Henry Smith of Jasper, FL and Gerald Smith of Marianna, FL

Sister: Marion Young of Jacksonville, FL

Numerous Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Great Great Grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends.

Thomas Lee Ephriam, Sr.

Mr. Thomas Lee Ephriam, Sr. age 72 of Marianna, FL transitioned from life temporal to life eternal on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at his residence, surrounded by his family.

He was a member of the Jerusalem African Methodist Episcopal Church and a retired Educator with the Washington County School Board.

Funeral services will be held Saturday December 02, 2017 at 12:00 noon from the sanctuary Jerusalem African Methodist Episcopal Church located at 2055 Highway 73 Marianna, FL 32448 with Reverend Carlos Redding (Pastor), Reverend Travis Ephriam, Reverend A.L. McGlockton officiating. Interment in Orange Hill Cemetery. Vann Funeral Home in charge.

Mr. Ephriam will lie in repose from 11:00 AM until time of service. A viewing will be held Friday, December 01, 2017 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Vann Funeral Home.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories:

Mrs. Emma L. Leeks, of Marianna, FL formerly of Bascom, FL transitioned from life temporal to life eternal on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 om the Chipola Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at New Liberty Hill Missionary Baptist Church 5239 Liberty Hill Rd Bascom, FL 32423 with Rev. Joseph Curry, Rev. Deon Johnson, Rev. Willis Long and Elder Dr. Nelson Wilson Pastor Officiating. 

Interment will be in the New Liberty Hill cemetery.

Vann Funeral Home will be in charge of the service.

The viewing will be held Friday, December 8, 2017 from 3:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at Vann Funeral Home.

Mrs. Leeks will lie in repose at the church from 10:00 A.M. until time for the service.
