Dorothy Marie Bennett

Mrs. Dorothy Marie Bennett, 86, passed away July 21, 2017 surrounded by her family.  She was born in Cypress, Florida, but lived most of her life in Chattahoochee, Florida.  Dorothy was of the Pentecostal Holiness Faith and was faithful in serving her Lord and Savior attending Sneads Assembly of God Church.  Her love was her family and work which was evident by the many jobs she held over the years.  After retiring as a Supervisor from Florida State Hospital Dorothy spent some time traveling; however, her love for work and her community led her to a job at CVS in Chattahoochee, FL where she worked another 14 years.  Mrs. Dorothy spent her life serving others and was always willing to lend a hand to help her family, friends or strangers.

Dorothy is survived by two daughters, Edna Sue Torres of Chattahoochee, FL and Linda Dean (Larry) of Sneads, FL; one son Jeffrey Bennett of Chattahoochee, FL; eight grandchildren, Angela Dean, Cyndy Hathcock (Homer), Stephanie Cook (Eric), Susan Franklin (Gene), Frank Torres, Jessie Torres, Herman Ingram Bennett, Joshua Huel Bennett and seventeen great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband Huel Bennett; her parents, Jessie L. and Edna Conner Parker; a brother, Franklin Boone; a sister, Geneva Barnard and a nephew, Douglas Boone.

Funeral Services will be held at Lanier-Andler Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, July 24, 2017 beginning at 3:00 PM CDT with Rev. Juno Douglas officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to Funeral Services at Lanier-Andler Funeral Home Chapel.
