Judy Ann McDaniel

Judy Ann McDaniel, 71, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 22nd, 2019 at her residence surrounded by her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Waller and Velma Helms.

Judy was born in Quincy, Florida on October 3rd, 1947 and raised by her loving grandparents, Hubert and Louise Helms, of Sneads, Florida. She married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, William Ralph McDaniel, on June 4th, 1965, and together they raised three sons.

She worked as a nurse at Florida State Hospital in Chattahoochee, Florida for several years until she and Ralph entered a new business venture: operating the local IGA in Sneads, Florida. From then, until the time of her illness, she worked diligently to help ensure the success of the family business.

Her two great loves in life were her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and her family. She was very active in church and served the Lord in many ways. She started a puppet ministry that she ran for many years and went on various mission trips. One of her last wishes was for each of her grandchildren to get a study bible from her next Christmas. She lived by the motto “When your faith fails you, stay faithful.”

Judy fought a long battle with cancer but always maintained her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. She will forever be dearly remembered by her family and those who knew her as a devoted Christian woman and a loving wife and mother who was a shining example of selfless love.

Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Ralph McDaniel of Grand Ridge, FL; three sons, Kevin McDaniel (Tonya) of Grand Ridge, Jonathan McDaniel (Molly) of Cypress, FL, and Cody McDaniel (Gena) of Grand Ridge, FL; 10 grandchildren, Zackary, Tanner, and Connor McDaniel, Will and Kristen McDaniel, Macy Emmons, Jake Durden (Alicia), and Bella, Rosie, and Lily McDaniel; 2 great grandchildren, Andigrace and Reid as well as many friends and family.

Visitation will be held Thursday, January 24th, 2019 at Sneads Assembly of God Church from 5-7 PM.  Funeral services are to be held Friday, January 25th, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Sneads Assembly of God Church with Reverend Juno Douglas, Dr. Eddie Frye, and Reverend Kelvin Johnson officiating and McAlpin Funeral Home directing. Interment will follow in Dykes Cemetery.
