Charles “Chuck” Liggett

Charles “Chuck” Liggett, 81 was born March 12, 1937 and passed on January 22, 2019.  Charles was born in Danville, Illinois where he was raised and concluded his high school years in San Francisco, California.  Charles served in the Army for four years where he met and married the love of his life Laura.  Charles moved to Chattahoochee in 1959 where he began his career with the Department of Corrections for over thirty-nine years, retiring in 1998 as Apalachee Correctional Institution’s Inspector.  He enjoyed golfing and eating meals with friends.

Charles is survived by his loving wife of sixty years, Laura Liggett; one daughter, Terri Liggett; a son, Charles Liggett II (Rachel); a sister, Martha Leopold (Ron); two grandchildren, Charles “Chase” Liggett (Kayla) and Kaylee Liggett; also, two great grandchildren, Adalind and Derek.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Jack Liggett; two sisters, Mary Lou Osborne and Sharon Marquez.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Charles’ memory to the United Methodist Children’s Home at 1967 Lakeside Parkway, Suite 400 Tucker, GA 30084 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Chattahoochee on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 11:00 AM EST with Reverend Mike Kramer officiating and McAlpin Funeral Home directing.
