Two Die In 3 Car Accident on I-10

Two Die In 3 Car Accident on I-10

The Florida Highway Patrol reports that a May 25 accident 2 miles west of SR286 on I-10 took the lives of two and critically injured two others.

A 2005 Dodge Pickup truck driven by Gary E Richeson, 46, of Crestview was westbound on I-10.  A 2014 Hyundai Sonata driven by Burton C. Cummings, 50 of Tallahassee was driving eastbound in the inside lane.  Another vehicle traveling east in the outside lane was a 2015 Toyota Prius driven by Nichole D. Blaquiere, 31, of St. Petersburg FL.

About 2 miles west of State Road 286, the Dodge truck veered to the left crossing the median into the eastbound traffic colliding with the Hyundai.  The impact caused the Hyundai to collide with the Toyota.

The Dodge Truck and the Hyundai came to rest blocking both eastbound lanes on I-10.  The Toyota came to rest on the eastbound shoulder of I-10.

Melanie Mae Richeson, 47, of Crestview a passenger in the Dodge Truck was killed in the accident, as well as Burton C. Cummings, driver of the Hyundai.

Gary E. Richeson was transported to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital in critical condition

Tracy L. Cummings, 47, of Tallahassee was a passenger in the Hyundai was also transported to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital and listed in critical condition.

All drivers and passengers were wearing seatbelts.  Charges are pending investigation.
