United Believers on the cross on Good Friday Featured

For those taking Highway 90 to and from their destination Friday morning, they were privileged to see a heartwarming sight. “He” was on the cross for us today as a gentle but ever so impacting reminder that Jesus died for us so that we may live for Him.
The Times talked with Kelvin Johnson who was present in the early hours of Friday morning, along with a couple of dozen citizens who were dressed for their part in the reenactment of the resurrection. Johnson said, “We have been here since early this morning and the three on the cross will be there until three this afternoon, that’s when Jesus died.” Jesus was sentenced by Pilate at the sixth hour and with the Romans starting their hours at midnight, the sixth hour was 6 a.m. At the ninth hour, using the Jewish system was at 3 p.m. when Jesus died. Johnson said, “There will be people coming and changing out throughout the day but Jesus will not come down until 3 p.m.”
United Believers Church is located on Highway 90 east of Grand Ridge on the south side of 90.
