Alford Community Health Clinic (ACHC) will be open from 10 AM until the last patient is seen, Saturday, September 23.  ACHC is a free clinic for patients who do not have medical insurance and who meet federal income guidelines.  The Clinic is staffed by qualified physicians, nurses and courteous assistants dedicated to providing quality health care to those with short-term illnesses, as well as chronic conditions, and walk-ins are always welcome. New patients should telephone 850-209-5501 for instructions and more information. All patients are urged to sign-in before 11:00 AM. Alford Community Health Clinic is located two blocks east of Hwy 231 in Alford, at 1770 Carolina Street.

The Jackson County Master Gardeners are hosting another permaculture workshop (Permaculture Part 2) on Saturday, September 23 at the Jackson County Extension Office in Marianna. Permaculture is a tool for designing a site-specific food production system for your space, utilizing the patterns and features observed in natural ecosystems. This class digs deeper into Permaculture than Permaculture Part I. It explores multiple techniques to store and use water; learn how to build a Hugelkulture bed; and take a deeper look at Permaculture principles. Permaculture Part I is not a prerequisite. Phillip Smith, Master Gardener and owner of Sand Hills Permaculture, will be the keynote speaker. The workshop runs from 9:00 am until 2:00 PM and includes a lunch emphasizing and using locally grown produce. There is a $20 workshop fee. The Graceville Garden Club will hold their annual Hot Dog/Hamburger Fund Raiser on Saturday, September 30,  in the back meeting room of the Graceville Civic Center.  Funds raised will be used for Graceville Beautification. Dinners will consist of two hot dogs with chips, dessert and a drink OR one hamburger with chips, dessert and a drink.  Plates will be available for take out or dine-in and will cost $8.00.  Any member of the Graceville Garden Club can be contacted for tickets.  Deadline for ticket purchases is September 26th.
