School Superintendent Steve Benton announced that Mrs. Anna Martin of the Sneads Elementary School has been selected as Jackson County Teacher of the Year for 2014. Mrs. Martin teaches in the fourth grade. Her expertise is in effective writing instruction, a skill which has helped SES to continue as a high scorer in FCAT writing tests.

Superintendent Benton also presented Erica Barnes of Cottondale Elementary School as the Rookie Teacher of the Year for the county, and Don Holland of Hope School as 2014 Vivian F. Ford School-related Employee of the year.
