Beatrice B Moran

Beatrice B. Moran, age 79, of Cottondale, passed away on Wednesday, January 05, 2011 in Jackson Hospital. She was a lifelong resident of Jackson County and a member of the Piney Grove Baptist Church. She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her favorite past times were singing, fishing and spending time with her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jackson Luke and Christine Brannon, her first husband and father of her children Raymond Earl Tharpe, second husband, Bob Moran son-in-law Larry Hagans and grandson Edwin Sheffield.

Survivors include her sons, Wayne Tharpe and wife, Ann, Ronnie Tharpe , Paul Tharpe and wife Nancy all of Cottondale; daughters Linda Hagans of Bonifay, Sharon Miller and husband Jerry of Cottondale and Carolyn Strickland and husband Gilbert of Cottondale; brothers, Charles Brannon of St. George Island, FL, Carl Brannon of Greenwood, Fl and Wilson Brannon of Arizona; sisters, Joyce Collins of Donaldsonville, Ga. and Mary Johnson of Cottondale; stepson Kelly Moran of Dothan, AL; 19 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Services for Mrs. Moran were held on Friday, January 7, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Jackie Register officiating. Interment followed in Piney Grove Cemetery.

A time of visitation was held on Thursday evening January 6, 2011 from 5 to 7 P.M. at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home.

The family would like to send a special thank you to Sara, Terry, Kelly and Gino Mayo with Emerald Coast Hospice to Glendell Strickland and to family and friends.

Marianna Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
