Gus Works, Jr

Gus Works, Jr., 77, of Caryville, departed this life suddenly Saturday, Jan. 31 at the Doctors Memorial Hospital in Bonifay from an apparent heart attack. He was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his children: Carol J. and husband Harry Andrews, Edward E. and wife Verna Works, Eric L. Works, Viola D. Works, Travis D. Works, Alvin N. and wife Ruth Works, Charles A. Works, Carrie Works, Gail Works, June E. and husband Gregory Lawson, Michael A. Works, and Tyna L. and husband Michael Thompson; sisters: Dorothy Works and Jerlene Oats; grandchildren: Drexyl (Tolisha) Andrews, Montgomery, AL; Kyle Andres, Samera and Edwarks, Jr.,all of Caryville, FL; Elise and Canese Works, Daytona Beach, FL, Kimberly, Alanna of Atlanta, GA, Jenniefer Works, Orlando, FL, Ashlee Cooper, Dothan, AL Bryan Works, Tallahasse, FL, Erica Works, Graceville, FL, Derek and Adrian Works, Lawrenceville, GA, Jessica and Jyna Lawson, Dothan, Al, Simone and Michael Works of Marianna, FL, Michael J., Christianna, Mason, Valerie Thompson of Cincinntti, OH, Carlos, John, Jermaine, Vitoya, Vionca Works, Caryville, Florida, Shannon Davis and Sheronne Works of Chipley, Flroida; 21 great grandchildren; two aunts, numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Service in his memory was held Saturday, Feb. 7 at Saint Mary AME Church in Caryville with the Rev. James Johns officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery with Christian Memorial Chapel of Graceville in charge of arrangements.
