Elton Little

Elton Little, age 87, passed away on Friday, September 18, 2009 in Flowers Hospital, Dothan, Al. She was a native of Andalusia, Al and lived there until moving to Marianna in 1963 with her husband, Thomas E. Little. Mrs. Little worked with her husband who served as President of The First Bank of Marianna until his retirement in the early 80’s. Her last several years were spent in Dallas, Tx and Dothan, Al with her sister Jackie Ward. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Marianna. Mrs. Little had a great love for her grandchildren and enjoyed life, traveling and playing cards with her sister Jackie.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marron J. and Minnie Owen Ward, and her husband, Thomas E. Little, Sr.

Survivors include her sons; Thomas E. Little, Jr. and wife Lynn of Thomaston, Al and George (Jerry) Little and wife, Pam of Marianna, daughter; Carol Rhodes of Tucson, Az, sisters; Jackie Ward of Dothan, Bobbie Parker of Enterprise, Joanne Foley of Dothan and Carolyn Park of California, grandchildren; Matthew Little, Mandi Tucker, Sylvia Rhodes, Callie Little and great grandchildren Max Wojcik and Matthew Little.

Services for Mrs. Little were held Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at the First Presbyterian Church of Marianna with the Rev. Ralph E. McCaskell officiating. Interment followed at the Pinecrest Memorial Gardens.

Visitation was held on Monday, September 21, 2009 at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home.

Donations in memory of Mrs. Little may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Marianna.

Marianna Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
