The Jackson County TIMES is a five-year-old weekly newspaper of general circulation in Jackson County, Florida. Our office is located in Marianna across from the county courthouse on Madison Street. The TIMES is a family-owned, family-run business.
The TIMES is a paid periodical paper which is published each Wednesday evening, copies are available in rack machines all over Jackson county, including the towns of Sneads, Grand Ridge, Malone, Greenwood, Alford, Cottondale, Campbellton and Graceville. The total circulation is about 4,000 copies weekly. Being a weekly publication, each issue stays in the household for many days and there are always multiple readers per issue. The price per copy is still 50 cents and the subscription rates are $26 for six months and $52 for one year. For local subscribers, the paper comes in the mail each Thursday morning, same as in the racks.
The TIMES contains only news and events in Jackson County. The colorful front page each week is an interesting mix of news and feature articles and full color photos taken by our staff writers and photographers. We also have several contributing writers who add local color, humor and political views in every issue. We are always open to suggestions on how we can enhance or develop new specialty sections, for example:
- Our "Jackson County Agriculture" page each week features news with color photos focusing on farmers, their families and the stores and services with which they do business. Any agriculture-related ads could be featured on this page.
- Our "Especially for Seniors" page each week does the same thing but with senior citizens in mind. This page is highly popular with advertisers especially in the medical goods and services area. We do feature stories often about the stores and offices that advertise on these pages.
- Our "Jackson County Business News" page reports on incoming and outgoing business developments, retirements, employee of the month and much more. Just give us a call!
For the younger readers, and sports fans, we have a section of local high school and Chipola College competition action coverage in our Sports edition each week. The sports editor is Clint Cox. In short, there is a little something for everyone in the TIMES.
Our website features daily news updates and video reporting. You can view the website at www.jacksoncountytimes.net The TIMES also has an e-edition to our website which allows our readers to view the entire print version online and all the pages are in vivid color, it's fascinating! Banner advertising (rotating or changing electronic ads at the top and side of each page) is available at an economical cost to the advertiser. The e-edition can be found at www.jacksontimesonlinenewspaper.com Check it out!
